El trabajo giró sobre tres temas:
1. El beisbol, símbolo cultural cuyo sentido se define a partir del choque entre dos cuerpos. Utilicé esto formal y conceptualmente para referir al impacto cultural que sucede cuando se está en un espacio distinto al propio
2. El consumo de drogas como metáfora del desencuentro histórico existente entre México y los E.U. Para ello recurrí a imágenes de las bocas de los adictos a la metanfetamina, un problema de salud pública en el Medio oeste Norteamericano. Estas son al mismo tiempo frontera y lenguaje; el reflejo de una comunicación enferma, una descomposición y una codependencia económica y política que se refleja mismo tiempo en la dependencia física y el abandono del individuo; un problema que alcanza a todas las esferas. Esta miseria y descomposición afecta tanto a los individuos como a las naciones.
3.La imagen del bisonte como metáfora de pérdida simbólica y cultural que involucra la imposición humana sobre la Naturaleza, su control y, con ello, su exterminio. Esta ambición de poder hace que cambien los paisajes. Desaparece el mundo y nosotros con él..

The work drew on three themes:
1. Baseball, one of the two most popular sports in the US, along with football, whose meaning is defined by physics (force, velocity and collision) and symbolism (because of its phallic connotations). I used it to speak about the cultural clash that happens while being in a geography different than your own.
2. Drug abuse as a metaphor of the historical mismatch in between Mexico and the US.
I referred to images of the mouths of methamphetamine addicts (a public health problem in the Midwest, where 90 % of meth is provided by Mexican cartels), using these as metaphor of border, language, “ill communication” and a historical and political but also physical dependence that conveys decay of individuals.
3. Bisons as a metaphor for symbolic and cultural loss. Almost 31 million of this animals were killed in the U.S. midwest towards the ends of the 19th century. One of the reasons for this massacre was because herds allegedly got in the way of the railroad and therefore blocked human progress. Its extermination also had to do with weakening the symbolism that this godlike beast had within native cultures. This conveils human imposition over nature and therefore its control and further extermination. This obsession changes landscapes. World disappears and we dissapear with it.
